Ganesha Chaturthi is a major festival of India and has its roots in Western India. But recent trends show that this festival is gaining popularity in Northeast India as well.
The Tribal population of Northeast India mostly sticks to theirown festivals but that has not been the case with festivals like "Diwali,"Ganesha Chaturthi" and "Durga pooja", people are accepting these festivals with open heart.
They follow the culture of Western India in case of Ganesha Chaturthi to some extent, they raise Pandal , install Ganesha Murti in pandals, ganesha Decoration, visit temple ,and they also decorate their home in the festival. Many places like in Guwahati(Assam) Ganesha Visarjan is also part of the festival.

How To Reach The "Sleepy Valley Of Ziro"
Ziro is located in Arunanchal Pradesh State of India at a height of 5500ft in Himalayas and a tourist needs special permission to visit the place.To reach Ziro Its better to take a Flight or bus from Guwahati to Jorhat(Arunanchal pradesh). From Jorhat a 70 km ride to Itanagar ,the capital of Arunanchal pradesh, where you will have to get a permit to visit other places in the state. Its just a simple procedure and its very easy to get the permit. From Itanagar you will have to book a cab or Drive to Ziro.
I bet the effort made to reach the place will be paid off once you have seen the beauty of the state and enjoy a different kind of musical fest.
